Notes:

Nathaniel and Elizabeth removed from Weymouth to Abington where sometime after the children were born. Nathaniel served as a Selectman in 1752 in Abington. He was a carver of stone in and around the South Shore towns of Massachusetts passing the trade down to his son Noah and Noah to his sons. He was a member of the Committee of Correspondance of Abington in 1774 denouncing and rejecting the duty placed on the imported tea of the East India Tea Company to be paid by Americans to the British Crown. It was about this time that Abington started to formaly organize militarily supplying all men 16 years of age or older with firearms and ammunition and recruiting soldiers in a build-up to the Revolutionary War.

John Pratt early in life attained the rank of Lieutenant, and as "Lieut. John," his name frequently appears on the town records in positions of trust and honor. He was a man of great energy, not only in the affairs of the town and military matters, but also in the church. His pew was near that of his brother Ebenezer, " on the west side of the great dore" of the meeting-house, for which he paid £3. From his father Mathew's will Samuel received "I doe give to my son Samuel Pratt twelve acers of land neere his house. Four acres of it was William Brandems & eight acres of it was John Gurney's & when hee hath fenct it out as far as it is pasture hee shall have it and not before. & I doe give him one acre of Salt Marsh by John Pratt's house at my decease. And I doe give him that part of my common lott laide out to mee at Smell Brooke. Ad I doe give him my two acres of Swamp lot where it is in the woods. Samuel Pratt of Weymouth "being sick & weake & minding his mortality" made his will 12 Apr 1679, and it was proved 16 Oct 1679. He appointed his loving wife and his brother John Rogers to be executors. His wife to have his whole estate until his children are of age. If his wife Hannah Pratt marry again she shall have £20. To his son John Pratt certain lands. To son Samuel Pratt half of his lot "at pen plaine." Son Ebenezer Pratt one-half of his housing and land adjoining. All the rest of his children £7 apiece. "Lieut. Isaac BUCK, Blacksmith was a brother of John, and was in Scituate before 1647. He purchased the house of Jeremiah BURROUGHS, which had been that of Resolved WHITE at Belle house neck. In 1660, he built a house near the Harbour, on the Buck field, so called even now. The house of Anthony WATERMAN, lately deceased, occupies the spot. He was a very useful man, often engaged in publick business, and the Clerk of the Town for many years. He was a Lieut. in Philip's War, and repulsed the Indians with great bravery from Scituate in March 1676. He died intestate 1695. Commissioners divided his estate as follows: "To Frances the widow the house in which she now lives. To Thomas, the land where his house stands. To the heirs of the second son James, & c. To Joseph - to Jonathan and Benjamin, (sons of Lieut. B.) To Elizabeth, wife of Robert WHITCOMB To Mehitabel, wife of Stephen CHITTENDEN To Ruth, wife of Joseph GARRETT, and Deborah wife of Henry MERRITT."Beside these children there is a son Isaac amongst the baptisms: but he may have died early. A son John is also incidentally mentioned in other records. He left a son Dea. Isaac, who was the last of the name in Scituate. He lived at the northeast of Hoop-pole hill, thirty rods south of late Judge Nathan CUSHINGS's residence. The colony's soldiers were rewarded with land, as had been promised by the court. On 10 March 1675/76 the court observed that soldiers sent out on the first expedition had been promised money or land, and, there being no money, certain tracts of land valued at £1,000 would be given them. On 21 July 1676 a list of names of twelve men from Scituate was approved by the Council of War to receive lands ranging in value from £21 for William Hatch to £10 for Lt.
