Samuel was a soldier in the American Revolution. He was a private in the New Hampshire militia according to DAR records. He later received a pension for war injuries sustained on an expedition to Rhode Island. He and Phebe had four sons. It is not known exactly when he left New Hampshire, but he died in Mt.
